Overview:

What is proofreading?

Proofreading focuses on only punctuation and spelling in your writing. Whereas copyediting focuses on sentence structure to ensure fluency, proofreading is the final step in polishing your manuscript before publication to prevent errors from past revisions.

Why do I need a proofreader?

During the copyediting stage, you may need to rewrite sentences throughout your manuscript. When you revise these sentences, a few grammar errors may occur unnoticed during your revisions. To ensure your book looks professional and polished, have a proofreader look at it.

What should I expect from Write Plan?

For proofreading, we will correct grammar and punctuation and check the manuscript's layout and page numbers for consistency.

Services:

Free Sample Edit

We offer 5-pg sample edits for free. Pages should be formatted as Times New Roman font, 12-pt, and double-spaced with 1" margins. In addition to the free sample, we will provide a quote for your overall project.

Full Proofread ($0.018/word) *dependent on word count and work involved

For a full proofread of your manuscript, turnaround is 4 weeks unless stated otherwise. (See the price chart here.)

Payments:

Payment Plans

Unlike many editing companies, we prefer creating custom payment plans for authors to make our services more accessible. Our payment plans are flexible to fit your needs. If you are interested in a payment plan, please let us know that when you fill out a contact form. We do require that 40% of the project's total amount is paid before we begin edits.

Please note that for projects with payment plans, turnaround is 23 months.

If you wish to pay the full amount upfront to secure a 4-week turnaround instead, you are welcome to do so.

Reserve an Editing Date in Advance

To reserve an editing date ahead of time, we require a $100 non-refundable deposit to secure a spot in our schedule. The $100 will be deducted from the project's final total.

How to Pay

Write Plan will send an electronic invoice, which can be paid via credit card or secure bank payment.
